Greetings Friends,

The holiday season is almost here. Are you feeling the joy this year? Lots of people are not…, at least not yet! Let’s face it, 2020 has been a very tough year and it’s not over. On a positive note, it will soon be history. Happy New Year!

You may be feeling disconnected from your Unity family and wondering how everyone is and what’s happening in our spiritual community. This Sunday the Board of Trustees is holding a Town Hall meeting at 12:30 pm via Zoom. Not only is this a chance to reconnect and find out what’s happening, it’s also a test run for our special Sunday Holiday services!

This year the Christmas Candlelighting service (Dec 20) and Burning Bowl service (Dec 27) will both be on Sunday mornings at 11 am via Zoom. The White Stone Ceremony will be on January 3. We are preparing special Holiday Kits so you can participate from home. You can pick up your kit at Unity on Monday, December 7thth from 2 to 6 pm or Saturday, December 12 from noon to 4 pm. If you live locally and want to participate but can’t pick up your kit on either of those dates, Colleen and Greg Foster have volunteered to deliver kits.

For those who really want to gather on December 24 and 31, you’re invited to hang out together outdoors at Unity on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 7 pm. It won’t be a formal service, but let’s see how much fun we can have under the circumstances! For more information, watch for our weekly emails or send a message to unity@unityofdayton.org

A few things have become abundantly clear to me during the pandemic. One is, you are all incredibly strong and resilient people. We’ve made our adjustments (often reluctantly!) and learned how very important our spiritual friends are to us. We are a family with arms wide open to each other and to all who value Light, Love, Peace, and Joy.

Another thing that’s become clear is that we are going to make it through this. Yes we are, and we’ll be stronger and more spiritually aware than we ever thought possible. If you have any doubts, I invite you to take a breath and a quiet moment for prayer. Ask Spirit for reassurance, for strength, and for guidance. And then listen to the Still Small Voice. With God, all things are possible, and even when there seems to be no way, a way is made.

Much love to you my friends,

Rev. Cindy

Prayer for Protection
The Light of God surrounds us,
The Love of God enfolds us.
The Power of God protects us,
Wherever we are God is!
