I’m not certain where 2019 went, but for me, it has gone by very quickly! We are now in the holiday season, with all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and the New Year. Today marks the beginning of the season of Advent, the four Sundays before Christmas. It’s a time to prepare ourselves for the birth of Christ in our own hearts and lives. Each of the four Sundays of Advent we explore a different quality that brings us to Christ consciousness, and today we begin with “Faith.”
Have you ever had someone ask you, “What’s your faith?” when asking about your religious affiliation? Or, perhaps during some difficult time someone tried to encourage you and said, “You’ve got to have faith!” In other words, “Don’t give up! There’s hope!”
Even though they have different vibrations and evoke different feelings, people often use the words, “religion,” “faith,” and “hope” interchangeably. This week we’ll look at a larger meaning of faith, the universal quality of faith within all humankind. On the following Sundays of Advent, we’ll explore the ideas of Universal Peace, Universal Love, and Universal Joy.
Open Our Hearts
These days we hear so much about the differences and divisions between us. Perhaps this holiday season we can open our hearts and expand our awareness to see that we have so much more in common. In Spirit, we are all the same, one with the One Presence and Power that God is. As conscious creators, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We have the power to rise up to a new and higher way of being! Let us begin the New Year with gratitude for all that has been and a sense of expectancy for the good that awaits us.
May you have a blessed holiday season, full of faith, peace, love, and joy.
